Dodging, the first attack of Rooster system, is an integral component of its combative strategy. This attack method combines large, fast body movement with the characteristic “lying step” footwork of Rooster system, executing strikes while dodging out of harm’s way. Drawing from the strategies, body movement, and footwork of the other seven trigrams, the forms presented here combine those elements with the Li Trigram Dodging attack. This provides comprehensive training which develops the ability to execute dodging in a variety of situations. In this video, He Jinbao introduces and explains each of the seven Dodging attack forms. Power training of individual techniques in each form is then demonstrated. Finally, the techniques are put together and training of complete forms is demonstrated for development of coordination and fluidity.
